Today I’m bringing you a comparison review of the Rolex Day-Date, a model commonly known in the replica watch community as the “Black Ice Sugar.” It gets this nickname from its yellow gold tone combined with a black dial and diamond hour markers. The two watches featured today come from QF and RC respectively.

First, I weighed both watches, the Day-Date from RC Factory is 212 grams. The Day-Date from QF is V6 edition, its weight is 201 grams.

Gold color comparison. The gold tone of the RC factory version looks slightly lighter than that of the QF version.

The Rolex Crown Logo on the dial. It looks more three-dimensional on RC.

Both factories use solid center pinions for the hands, but RC uses the well-known BUFF hands, whose center pinion shape looks much better.

The engravings on the clasp show a pretty noticeable difference. The RC version has deeper, more three-dimensional, and clearer engravings, while the QF version looks much shallower. Especially the Rolex coronet logo – on the RC, it’s deeply stamped and looks extremely nice.

There are also differences in the movement. RC uses the Shanghai 3255 movement, and the finishing on the movement plates is made to replicate the original Rolex 3255. This QF Day-Date is the V6 version, equipped with an Asian 2836 movement; the movement plates and rotor have no engravings, making it a “bare movement.” At the same time, QF also offers a Shanghai 3255 movement option for this model.
Conclusion
RC Factory makes the best weighted Rolex Day-Date replicas, but they have very expensive prices. QF Factory’s Day-Date is a more affordable option, their Day-Date is also very good, the V6 edition with Asian 2836 movement is a more cost-efficient option, at the same time, Asian 2836 is very stable.
